去年聽 '68 的時候真的沒啥感覺，這次聽覺得這張真的太棒了，比較有共鳴。這張作品充斥著 punk +stoner + blues 的元素，聽起來完全不無聊。《This Life is Old, New, Borrowed and Blue》這首讓人想到 Beartooth 的《In Between》，而《What More Can I Say》中 noisy + experimental + 溫暖後搖旋律也讓我十分喜愛。

一連串聽了 Rolling Stone 選的 2017 rap album，終於聽到一張特別喜歡的。

[Thinking] 壞與邪惡的差別
這幾天聽嘻哈有個對於壞與邪惡差異上的體悟。我還記得之前去看 Jay Prince，暖場的時候 rappers 互動的言論中說了「哦，好兇喔」。其實身為重型搖滾背景出身的我，覺得算是有點不以為意吧？原來唱用力一點就很兇。
最近幾天聽著嘻哈又讓我回想起這件事，那種兇惡、壞壞的感覺，相比金屬這一塊差別究竟在哪？源頭上我覺得金屬帶來負面、非正向的感覺是來自於邪惡，從活力轉變到邪惡，而一些 2000 年以後的搖滾玩意，同時汲取了金屬與嘻哈的元素，造就有些感覺邪惡，有些感覺壞的產物。
比方說 beatdwon 掛的就能聽到他們顯然受到嘻哈，從裝扮到節奏。相近場景，一些 deathcore —那和 newschool beatdown / downtempo 比較近的那群，還有些自稱 doomcore 團則是還原回金屬原先邪惡的氣息，都讓那些 hardcore / hip-hop fusion 的風格演化回金屬獨有的邪惡感。

當然，Satanic hip-hop、horrorcore 之類用邪惡主題入樂，又是另個可以討論的方向了。
